Twitter affordances and disadvantages
Twitter is a social media site where you are able to express your thoughts and feelings in 140 characters. This has the upper hand over facebook as you dont have to read long paragraphs of peoples life stories that they post, this is an advantage as you are able to see what people are getting up to by reading one sentence in roughly 10 seconds. Another affordance is if you have a well known account, through posting funny pictures or quotes you may be able to become a well known name and you can advertise a certain brand product through that account. For example one of my friends twitter accounts has over 10,000 followers therefore the nightclub ramshackle hired her to work for them and advertise their tickets through her account. This is a great affordance as the name of the night club will be spread to people who maybe haven't heard of it, as well as that the girls whose account it is gets paid a certain amount buy the company for every ticket that she can sell. These tickets would be sold by great advertisement non her behalf so she has to sound very friendly and enthusiastic whilst talking about that company.

Technology
Our first messages could only be delivered as quickly as a man could walk or shout, as far as he could throw or as fast as his horse could travel. Of course, see methods are still use today, eg. Postal service workers.
This method of technology was the only option back in the day before things like the computers and the internet, however by using this way to communicate it meant they had to have a precise message to send and normally they were very important messages. For example before they wrote letters they had to tell people messages and get them to travel to whoever it was being sent to. Advantages of this is that the receiver of the message will be able to understand the tone that the message was being sent in and can read of the messengers body. Disadvantages to this would be that it would take a long time to deliver the message depending on how far the messenger has to travel. Also if the message was misunderstood it could be projected by the messenger in the completely different way intended. Whereas modern day technology, like phones, a message could be sent and delivered within seconds and can be relayed back and forth until the message is understood.

Mini saga
They walked by everyday pretending not to notice, they don't look, not even a glance.
He doesn't beg. His heart is too kind, too kind to take. He remains curled up most days, like a hedgehog, innocent, quiet, but a rough exterior so no one looks.
One step closer to the edge. All eyes on him.

Gods among us #2 FOX
Angelina Jolie has won yet another crown, but will Megan Fox steal the throne next year? We have a new beauty queen candidate running!
In the recent poll sultry siren, Megan Fox came a close second to the reining queen of beauty Angelina Jolie in the Top 100 women award. Both actresses share scarily similar qualities, such as their flowing, raven hair, mesmerizing blue eyes and their assortment of tattoos. However Megan is one up on Angelina as she has youth on her side. This will give her crucial points in the game for years to come.
Both girls better watch out. Young, alluring brunettes are on the LA red carpet scene, Kendall Jenner and "The Hills" star, Audrina Partridge, are also squaring up for their position on the stand as the next Hollywood goddesses - these ladies better sleep with one eye open.
Angelina Jolie's career had already began by the time Megan was being potty-trained, but as well as being a few years 'more experienced' Angelina didn't have the monobrow, acne and braces phase that Megan had to endure, giving her an even bigger head start. Something must have changed in the stars and Megan was looked down upon, she was suddenly gifted with a beauty so magnificent, she really did change from a back-street cat to a lioness in a matter of years. It was onwards and upwards from then on.
The fierce look of Megan Fox clawed its way through the modeling business and then pounced straight into acting. She starred alongside of Shia Loboeff in Transformers (2007) and played the role of the love interest. I can guarantee that 98.5% of men watching that film were envying Shia. The remaining 1.5% who said they weren’t was obviously lying.
Mother of two, Megan is still lusted after for many different acting roles, as well as being a very important role model for many teenage girls.
We cannot help but wonder if there is a special role model in her life. The Marilyn Monroe tattoo could be giving us a huge nudge, as she was one of the rarest of beauties, the Aphrodite of earth, a real candle in the wind – a great role model for Megan to aspire towards.

Bored? Well here's a great way to waste your time - play sudoku!
It a spare 5 minutes? Or maybe even even 2 hours for us less sophisticated minds out there, why not attempt sudoku. This highly advanced puzzle allows you to expand your mind, feel your IQ increase by the second. All you need to do is grab a pen.
This puzzle gives you the opportunity to sit like a lemon, twiddling your thumbs starring into space trying to figure out the impossible number combinations for hours on end. When you are finally successful, you are left with a grid of numbers CONGRATULATIONS whoop-de-doo!
I don't know about you but I'm sticking with crossword puzzles, which requires a sliver of intelligence served with a side of whit.
When you have finished your crossword puzzle there is a great sense of achievement, whereas sudoku leaves you with a strange arrangement of numbers on a page and a sour attitude as you as you realise that you missed your bus stop

Dramatic monologue
Melanie is 17. She lives with her mucin an affordable flat. She is perched upon the kitchen counter, it is the morning.
Even today I can't imagine my life any different. The last eight years have been a blur. I try to keep busy and not think about how I live such a different life to all my friends, a very different life (that goes without saying) but I guess early to bed and early to rise has been my permanent routine for a while now. Every day is the same, wake up, make breakfast, then see mum. "Good morning" I say, but all she gives me is a harsh crack of a smile etching itself into her bare face. No words. Her room is filled to the brim with pills and medicine bottles - it may as we'll be a pharmacy. This is how I see mum everyday, struggling to talk, barely managing to move but still grasping on to the remaining flicker of light left burning in her eyes. But that wasn't good enough for my father. He saw the flame disappear, and soon followed. I like to think that the same person is still inside her, and memories of us three all together skip around in her mind, fuelling her to get through the day. However, my dad always used to say that she no longer knew any of us - the nurse said the same thing. They had to be wrong, hadn't they? "How could you love someone if they are no longer the same person you fell in love with?" He always muttered these words under his breath. She had to be the same, or why would I still be here?

My Idiolect
My Idiolect contains quite a few fillers such as 'um' and 'err'. I normally use these when I can't think of what to say or when I forget what I was about to say. I use fillers out of habbit now but I think they are used in general to try and retain the attention of the listener. I have notcied that I also use the word 'like' constantly when I speak. I think this is a very common American term to use and has possibly been fed through to us by television programmes. It could also be a very easy habbit to pick up off of your friends as they tend to have a significant influence in the way you speak.
Along with my Bristolian dialect, I also have a few habits in my body language when I am being spoken to. Two of my most common habits are fiddling with my hair or touching my ear. I think I do this because I feel a bit awkward and uneasy talking to people that I do not know and and by playing with my hair, it keeps me distracted from feeling like this. When I listen to people speaking I tilt my head to the side slightly, I guess this could show that you are concentrating and really trying to understand what you are being told.
One word I dislike saying is my name. I dont like to say my name outloud to people because I feel as if I say it wrong even though it's my own name. Another reason I dislike saying my name is because on the rare occasion I am miss heard and mistaken for "juicey" I have even been called "gypsie" before, then I feel awkward because I have to correct them unless it's someone I will never see again so I won't bother correcting them.
Finally I noticed that the pitch of my voice changes depending on the mood I am in. When I am annoyed or angry. I don't really know why I do this but one way of looking at it is a warning that I am in this mood and to not make me any more annoyed. I also raise the pitch of my voice when I am on the phone to make me seem more friendly rather than using my usual grumpy tone.
